If you haven’t been to the Events page for a while, there’s no missing that spring has sprung – garden events galore!

If you live in the Tauranga area here are some for your diary:

Wednesday, October 30, Attracting Bees to the Garden: 7.30pm, at the cafe inside Palmers Bethlehem, free.

Saturday, November 2, Tauranga Iris Show: 10am-4pm, Legion of Frontiersmen Hall, Elizabeth St West, just off the expressway, $2 entry.

Saturday, November 2, Caring for your Citrus Trees: 10am-2pm, $10 with tutor Keith Pyle, Katikati.

Sunday, November 3, QuarryFest, Te Puna Quarry Park: 10am-4pm, includes The Giant Garage Sale that has a garden focus with plenty of plants, tools, pots, etc for sale. Gold coin entry appreciated.

Friday, November 8, Demonstration Day at Kings Seeds: 10am sharp at 189 Wharawhara Rd, off SH2 south of Katikati. The restart of the popular sessions.

Saturday, November 9, Bromeliad Display & Sales Day: 8am-noon, Matua Hall, Levers Rd, Tauranga, free entry.

Saturday & Sunday, November 9 & 10, Katikati Garden Ramble: 9am-5pm, wet or fine, 13 gardens (including a refreshment stop). Tickets $20 each from Katikati Information Centre, phone (07) 549 1658 (open weekends).

Saturday & Sunday, November 9 &10, Tauranga Rose Display: 8.30am-5pm, Palmers Garden Centre Bethlehem, free.

Saturday & Sunday, November 23-24, Waihi Garden Ramble, 9am-4.30pm, wet or fine, 16 gardens, some with art for sale, teas. Tickets $20.

Plus there are garden festivals in Rotorua, Whakatane and Auckland, and the Pacific Rose Bowl Festival in Hamilton – all in November.
