Just a reminder that there are some great events on this weekend if you’re in the Tauranga area:
The Te Puke Orchid Show is open Friday and Saturday (April 12 and 13), 10am-4pm, in the town’s Memorial Hall (on the main street), $3 entry for adults. The show features plant displays (orchids, bromeliads and carnivorous plants), plant sales, plus several handcraft stalls and a display by Tauranga Porcelain Painters. The theme for this year’s show is “Fostering the Anzac Spirit”.
Talking of Katherine Mansfield, is a one-woman show by Cathy Downes that is on at Tauranga Art Gallery, 7pm on Saturday (April 13), $25/$20.
Daffodil Planting Day, Sunday (April 14), 10am-1pm, at Sydenham Botanic Park, Millers Rd (next to Brookfield School), Tauranga. A gold coin donation will get you some daffodil bulbs for planting. Plans for the park will be on display and there will be a sausage sizzle.
And don’t forget, the Events page contains details of these and many other garden-related happenings.
